AEM EMS inital start up and restart issue
Hi,
I have a 1052 box in my S , I am trying to figure out why I am having difficulty when the car stall and restart , I have no problem with initial start up cold start and hot start , so let say If I am at a light, if I stall and try to restart it up again, the car just have to crank longer probably 5 to 6 sec longer, for initial start it probably crank twice and the engine catches , why does it do that? at first I thought my spark plug is faulty but I check and it's normal ( 1 step colder Ir), no carbon built up ..... would it be the software? stat sync take a while to reset itself?
I tune it to be around 16:1 cruising and 11.8:1 under boost , I only get 20 mpg... what are the mpg number for you guys? What are the timing you are running under cruising?

might be when you stall the fuel pump is not primed. try turning key off then on, here pump prime, and then start. otherwise, your startup fuel tables need to be adjusted.

16:1 damn thats leannnnnnnn. Is that healthy even under cruising throttle????
stoich = 14.7:1
ALSO VERY IMPORTANT AND SIMPLE*******
When you turn the key let the fuel prime for 3 full seconds THEN press START, the AEM unit seems slow w/ this.

Ya, I hear ya..... to me 16:1 is really lean under even a light load but I see what you mean. still on 20mpg at that setup???? I run 11.5:1 and get better.
