Wow I have an ap2 with 6 puck sprung act clutch for 70k miles boosted a lot of abuse never had crank walk. Can't be the PP we needto hear the legitmate reason why this would deny you a new motor and why the pp would be to blame from laskey.

installing the thrust washer backwards can cause it to bind and fail too. i have seen that on b-series and k-series where someone who thought they knew what they were doing put them on "inside out" and about 800-1k miles later they took their dog and crank for a nice walk. :-/
i called it earlier

on second review of your pics, its hard to see, but does the thrust appear to have "steps"? like does it look like it was partially spun, then ground down. then spun a little more and ground down? it would have slight ledges that make it look like steps.
if that is the case, then yes, it was installed backwards because the steps come from the crank wearing it into the block as it turns it until it falls out, and it usually does so on start-ups.

let me know.

truth be told, if they are a reputable builder, this will be perfectly clear to them what happened with your pics. it cant be denied.

looks like they owe you a build my brother.

Laskey Racing is a reputable builder. Mike Laskey has built hundreds of these f20c engines. I would go with his decision on the cause of the failure.

How long ago did Laskey build this engine for you?
