500 WHP with a log? Myth or Fact
I talked with several people and they shot me down recently when I told them my goal of 500WHP on the following setup using 91 Octane my stock lowend.
Is it realistic?
Should I stay with the stock HG?
(1) Ported IP Manifold
(2) Asura 3" Exhaust No Cat atomspheric dump
(3) Fully Ported Head w/ New Valves and Springs
(4) Ported Intake Manifold
(4) 5965 Ball Bearing Turbo
(5) 2MM HG
(6) 1000 T1 Injectors
(7) Walbro 255LPH Pump
(8) AEM 1052-U w/ 4 Pyrometers, IC Pipe Mounted Air Temp, Boost Controller

If you say No then, I only want 400-450 for normal driving and would like to have a scramble button for the rest, should I go tubular or just throw in some meth?

Why would you go that high on a log? With such a potent setup it seems natural to put a manifold that doesn't limit the rest of the setup.
Its like drinking fast with a straw. You might do it fast if you try hard enough, but its much easier without the limitation of the straw.

one guy on here just hit 478whp on 91 octane, stock motor, full-race kit. the IP log manifold kit can hit 500whp but you'll need more boost to do it than a tubular manifold kit. the extra boost required to hit the 500whp mark on the log manifold and the fact that you're trying to do it on 91 octane will probably keep you from hitting 500whp, that's my guess anyway. I'd say if the Full-Race kit got 478whp on 91 octane, stock motor, you'd get stuck a little under that, maybe 450whp. the head gasket lowering the compression may help you run more boost but at the same time you'll lose a little power from dropping the compression.
pump gas, stock motor, and 500whp is a tough combo. you don't see a ton of guys doing it and the few that do are on 93 octane and tubular manifold kits. that's the goal I have with my kit but I'm trying to hit 500whp on 93 octane and a tubular manifold setup.

Why did you choose the cometic 2m over the ILP 3mm? I have been debating the same thing. I think I am more confussed now than ever.
I was thinking doing stock compression 12psi maybe with meth
2mm 14-15psi no clock
3mm 16-17 psi clock cam gear
Based on what l learned the logs produce more heat thus more need to us the HG.
