so a domestic car never break? cause i know alot of domestics that go to the track and break shit..i have a 87 gnx timing chain broke and f@#ked the motor car been sitting in my back yard since....If u didnt realize joeys car wasnt always in the shop because he broke something hes one of the only ppl i know of with 50+ passes on a STOCK trans that never broke, dont remember him breaking the STOCK diff either to think of it the only time his car really been to the shop is when he bent a valve..so how/when is his car always in the shop?
Not about the fact it doesn't break...the fact that almost completely stock they run fast times ..... The reliability of the stock components is way better then that of the s

it is mostly because of 60' times. for every .1 faster your 60ft is, USUALLY your 1/4 ET will be 2x that
for example..
in my evo i ran a 7.0 1/8th @ 100mph with a 1.6 60ft.
i went to another track and ran a 1.8 60' which equated to a 7.5 1/8th ET which equated to a 11.4 @ 127 . i was pissed !!! Lol

Wow, I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet. It's because you have a centrifugal blower and not a roots blower like a mustang. Your centrifugal blower doesn't even make full boost till redline where as my 6266 makes full boost at 4800. Make 400 in a turbo charge car and it's night and day. OP I had an SOS kit and sold it a month after upgrading the pulley because it still didn't pull nearly as hard as my friends turbo s. Put a turbo in your car and it may be a different story for them. You can make 500whp in your S/C s and it will still be quick not fast.

The main problem with the s2000 is the launch and 60 ft times. With my evo I made 1.7 60 ft times all day long with out even trying and I was running 7.7 in the 1/8 mile at 91mph. This was with basic street tires and race gas. With my s2000 I struggle to run faster than mid 8's in the 1/8 mile and that's with a 94mph trap on straight pump gas. It's hard to get into the 1's for 60 ft with out drag radials or slicks. With the s2000 you really need slicks to get a decent pass a and. Decent time.

Their 1.8 sixty for vs you 2.2 make all the difference. Dont get crazy, slap on dr and launch at 8k. who cares if it beats you from a dead stop. Thats pretty much the only thing those cars are good for. From a roll race the s2000 will lay waste on them.
