A lot of the reason v8 stuff goes like it does is because of their auto trannys. They can cut killer 60s with the right converter and tires and it's fool proof, no driver error, put it on the trans brake and go, no worrying about slipping the clutch just right or bogging, the converter does the work, that's why I'm going auto in my race car :/

Personally my dd makes right around 400hp and it went 12.0@115 at high elevation with a crap 1.80 60ft on drag radials, My bros auto corvette stock base c6 with a Hughes billet converter goes 1.70 in 60ft at the track, on the street, anywhere same high elevation. His car kills me on the street no matter what but his car only traps 109, he front halfs me like a boss with the same power and more weight so it can hold me off for the rest. I really hope he never gets good tires for it cuz I won't ever catch him lol

His car was not always in the shop it went in the shop once had the head built and the trans built
And he was tripling the stock horsepower of the vehicle I think that's pretty good and he was on radials running 9's but he parted out his car to get a airplane

We have a rwd escort with 2.3L ford motor. Makes 298 at the crank all motor. Car weighs 2381, still carbureted with 600 Holley and gforce 5spd and it'll run 11.13.-11.15 at 500-700 ft above sea level. . 28" slick putting down every ounce of hp.

I still need to get some drag radials on the zr1 and see what it'll do.

how can you let a 87 gnx sit???? haha. in my opinion those cars broke the ice for the domestic/american fi world. we did a single gt88 turbo setup on one about a year ago. completely stock heads, think he bascially rod/pistoned it and runs low 9's/high 8's all day long. beautiful black car. drives it to the track about an hour each way
