I decided to delete the air pump since Ill be running LinkECU and wanted to clean the bay up anyway.

Removing the hard line was a pain in the ass. Hopefully I never have to reinstall it.

Turbo and manifold prep next.
Make sure you have the right wrenches for this one.

AN8 aluminum wrench for the AN fittings, and crow foot wrenches are your best bet for the tight fit.

the instructions are pretty spot on for this one.

Today we started to work on the exhaust side.
pulled the manifold, disconnected the HFC.

we were about to pull the motor mount bracket and noticed my engine mount was torn in 2. Sucks. Gotta wait for a replacement to do anything else since the mount is hidden underneath the turbo once it’s mounted.

The rest of the time was spent cleaning up the bay a bit.

we decided to relocate the horn just to clean up the space a bit. We also removed the OEM hood prop since I installed SOS hood struts this week.

I also installed the AN oil drain adapter and AN fitting for the turbo drain.

Nice! That’s a lot of work, but I’ll bet the excitement of imagining the hp keeps you going

Coming along nicely.

One thing I will say though is to get rid of that oil pan drain plug turbo drain and move it to the girdle, above the oil pan. You'll have turbo draining issues there.

I didn’t really get too much done yesterday, I’m just waiting for the new motor mounts to arrive so I can button up the actual turbo install.

in the meantime, I removed the OEM oil pressure sensor and test fit the link combo sensor. Just FYI the block is 1/8 BPST threaded so you’ll need the adapter in the photo.

after that I removed the OEM fuel rail and pulled the injectors. Initially I had planned on getting my OEM rail tapped for the AEM fuel pressure sensor, but I decided I’m going to buy the radium fuel rail and plumbing kit instead.

Also come to find out, I was sent the wrong PNP adapters for the ID1700 injectors I’ll be running.

after some discussions, I am going to just solder in the proper connectors to the OEM harness.

As you can see this doesn’t line up with the OEM harness.

Ive been seeing this posted a few places, but I haven’t heard of anyone having issues with the turbo drain this way with the SOS kit.

I think in the future Ill add a bung to the oil pan or tap into the timing cover as some others have done.

mainly for ease of changing the oil.
