Default 1200/1220sl kits

Trying not to club any dead horses here , but does anyone actually have the new comptech 1220sl kit installed and running on their car?

its time to pull the trigger on a brand new SC kit, and the SOS base kit looks alot more promising since comptech hasnt posted any new numbers or any updated pics in like..... 6 years?

the sos base kit shows 324/213 with a totally stock 04 ap2(which is what i have)and comptech shows 70-80whp from their previous novi 1000 kits from 2001.... :-/

so, if you have either the baseline new 1220sl/1200 kits(SOS or Comptech) please post your info in here. a short relevant synopsis of your experience with the kit, installation quality, etc.

i wrote nate at CT asking for all sorts of up-to-date info, but it usually takes a while or is like pulling teeth to get any new info from them.

so, thats the reason for this comparison and personal experience review thread.

thanks ahead of time.

I've heard a lot of good things about SoS and have considered purchasing their kit lately. Looks like they just posted an update regarding pullies coming loose or something. That was actually the only negative thing I've heard about their kit and they just fixed it .

SOS 1200 kit is very nice. no personal experience, but all my readings on this board have shown a very capable kit.

SL blowers are known to fail. You might want to go for the non SL blower with your kit. Also an extra $65 to move from the 1220 to the 1200 is probably a good idea, just in case you want more power later on. I imagine going for the 1200 would help out your resale value, if you ever wanted to sell it..

My SOS Novi 1200 setup made 421whp on a heartbreaker dyno with the 3.2" SOS pulley. It was quite amazing really.

I wouldn't waste time or money on a base kit. I initially had mine on the 3.8" pulley (12psi) and it was a nice bump over stock but not enough to justify the effort/cost.

I love mine.

It was packaged well and was a very easy install. Their customer service was top notch.
