Default 00' / 01' vs 02' / 03' ECU - any benefits when SC

Is there any benefits by using 02' / 03' Stock ECU when your SC'ed? I've heard that the 02' and 03' ECU has a better Air to Fuel mapping than the earlier model.

Using a Stock SC kit, You won't notice any difference. Additional fuel is handled by the FMU, not the computer.

I had read that the 02-03 ECU ran more aggressive timing as the difference to prior year ECU's, but it is hard to figure out what is knowledge and what is conjecture.
