Is there a good resource to learn how to tune with the AEM EMS software? I mean how do tuners learn how to tune an EMS or Flashpro? I'd love to be able to understand what I'm looking at in the tuner software which goes with the 1000 dollar EMS 2 I spent good money on.

Something like tuning fundamentals which could be applied to to either platforms would be amazing to know.

i kinda argued with Hondata support at their forum regarding the help documentation of FlashPro, and he recommended me Engine Management: Advanced Tuning from Greg Banish .

Greg Banish wrote several books about EFI & ECU managed engines.

it seems that books are about EFI essentials so i'm sure they'll do good for a start!

 

Look on the AEM forum. A chap posted up a utility that makes the quick mapping much easier. It basically remaps the quicktune button to the space bar and hits the quicktune button for you at configurable intervals. The quicktune on the AEM V2 looks at the O2 feedback values and then adjusts the base tables so you need to make sure your O2 feedback and target lambda tables are working.

 

EFI University is where I learned.
