i see "stock tune" option - the question what exactly does it mean?

i know with Miata NC mazda produced ~50 tunes versions - so there is not such a thing as 1 stock tune fits all cars.
that's why there is an option to download the current (base) tune from the ECU and keep it aside.

FlashPro manager has a "Return to Stock" function that puts the ECU back to stock. You can then unlock the FlashPro from the ECU. Supposedly a Honda dealership won't even be able to detect that it's ever been flashed before.

thx - i see now there are 2 options for this:
1. choose "stock tune" from tune list
2. choose "Return ECU to stock" fron Online menu

again - what i'm trying to understand what tune will be flashed then?
is it my original tune that was previously stored in my ECU?
or is it something else?

The "Stock Equivalent" calibration in FlashPro Manager is very similar to the actual stock tune, but there are some differences. However, when you go to the "Online" menu item in FPM, and select "Return ECU to Stock", that supposedly loads a binary copy of the actual Factory Honda tune. This may or may not be the exact same tune that was on your ECU when you bought it, since Honda has made updates over time. There's no way to restore the actual tune that was on the ECU before you flashed it.

this owuld be possible if Flashpro would've allow to download the actual tune and save it aside.
but i guess it doesn't do it.

I don't think there is a way to read the contents of the ECU. I think it is probably only writeable.

Has anyone compared the stock Honda flash to the "Stock" Hondata flash on a dyno? How about just general feel of the stock Hondata flash? Does it feel like stock, or are there any differences of note?

You can see just from the datalogs that the fuel and timing of a truly stock non-flashed ECU is the same as Hondata's "Stock Equivelent" and "Return to Stock" calibrations. That really tells you more than a dyno.
