Aftermarket ECU and Inspections

Aftermarket ECU and Inspections
I just picked up a used greddy turbo kit with no ems. I know all stand alone ecu's are not obd2 compliant. (With the exception of kpro, but I read that can have problems when it comes to inspections.)
I was wondering if I could purchase a AEM EMS and a Greddy Emanage (Blue). Tune and run the car on AEM EMS and when the time comes for inspection, swap the emanage (w/ basemap) in and drive a quarter mile down the street to the inspection station, pass, bring it home and put the AEM back.
If I had the option I would just go Emanage ultimate and call it a day, but it seems I have to drive a couple of hours out of state just to find a good tuner.

1. KPRO has no problems with inspection.
2. You mean a greddy emanage blue that has the greddy basemap? Yes, that would certainly work, just hope that they don't romp on it, it runs lean, and damages your car.
3. If a good, proven e-manage ultimate tuner is that close, that's what I would do.

Here's another question. I want to install the turbo and new ecu at home. After the install is completed how do I bring the car to a tuner? Is it safe to drive untuned? Or will I have to have it towed? Should I just run a greddy piggy back with a basemap and not hit boost along the way?
