AEM EMS ECU OFFLINE!
I have seen threads on this yes, so let me tell you everything i did so far and if you have more tips just chime in...
EMS 1052U
Serial Cable to laptop (no ubs adapter)
Its is set on com port 1 (which is the only option available to choose from)
Tried 3 different laptops.
Tried turning on ignition first then clicking "connect ecu" and vice versa.
I have a solid ground from battery to chassis.
What now???

I could never get the straight Serial to work. Try the Radioshack USB to Serial adapter and try again. Also if your having additional problems you may have what I had, look at my site and scroll through to see some interesting AEM damage.

Ok, so for anyone wondering, as soon as i connected the EMS directly to the battery it fired right up, so now i have to just run a different power source to the harness...

did you check all your fuses? also check the g101 ground. it is located behind the head and grounds your engine harness.
if that is not it. then plug in an obd2 scanner into your car and try starting it up. the obd2 circuit when connected to an obd2 scanner will also ground your engine harness. this of course is a temporary and hazardous fix since the obd2 circuit does not have a fuse.
