Does anyone know whether our OEM HU would drop into a Civic? Need any special harness for it? My friend's Civic OEM HU just broke and I have my OEM HU (Yr 00') out sitting around for some time so I am thinking about giving it away rather than letting it decompose in my garage. Any help is appreciated !

the plug may or may not match up, I know when I wired my rear speakers into my stock plug/radio the harness I raided said it was out of a 98 up Accord. Your radio will definately just drop into the stock location, it's a standard DIN
This may or may not help you My rear speaker install to figure out what wires are what. You might need to go to any install shop and get the same harness I got so you have a plug for your stock radio and wires in the right locations you can wire into his car. One thing to note: Make sure you get the Accord harness and not an s2k harness or you will only have 2 speaker outs instead of 4!
If you want to make it really easy, get the plug to go into his existing harness too (as if you were wiring in an aftermarket radio) those 2 harnesses will have the wires all labelled. Will probably cost you about $30 total that way though, just depends on how worried he is about needing to go back to stock.
Good Luck, Travis
