The advertising behind XM, as found in their original commercials before release, touted that it would provide commercial free stations. This is technically true, because some stations are commercial free. however, it is misleading and makes many think that all stations are commercial free. I had to explain this to so people before who honestly thought there were ZERO commercials on XM. I was just trying to make sure people were informed. I have noticed recently that XM has changed their advertising, however their initial informaion was in MY OPINION,, ahhhem... a bit misleading and that's all i was saying. Also, does anyone know if there is a signal quality difference between XM and Sirrius? I honestly don't know and would appreciate any feedback on this. thanks.

This blog does a good job of collecting up all the published articles on XM and Sirius: http://satradio.weblogger.com/

I know I've seen a couple links in there to places that have done audio comparisons. If you look through the links, you should be able to spot them. You'll probably have to use the calendar in the upper right corner to get to the previous months articles.

... and you must have a better memory than I, because I don't recall XM ever saying that they were 100% commercial free. Either way, they haven't said that in a long time, so I don't think there should be any confusion - in fact, their FAQ states: "Many of our music channels are commercial free". That's a far cry from claiming "100% commerical" free and not misleading to me.

I checked, and Sirius' site definitely does say "100% commercial-free radio" in big letters. But hey, I don't really don't want to start an argument.

First off, I really wanted my Kenwood HU (MP 919) and it supports Siruis (not XM). But, I also did not want to listen to any advertisements..... definately worth an extra 3 bucks per month. Anyway, I could not be happier with my choice. Recpetion is great and musical selsections/choices are awesome.
