Every penny! I moved to San Antonio from Boston. Needless to say it was a bit of a culture shock. Not being a big fan of country music, there weren't too many radio stations I liked. XM solved that problem. Now I've got about six stations that play music I like and a whole bunch of stations (non-music) that I listen to as well. Best thing I ever put on my car.

Do you need a different antenna than what's on our cars? Is there a monthly fee? How much?

Yeah unfortunately you do need another antenna ($80-$100) and a satellite tuner ($149-$249) in addition to an XM ready radio and the service costs $10 a month. I really can't say enough about XM. The sound quality is great (digital - sounds like a CD). I will warn you that you look like an idiot sitting at a light laughing to yourself as you listen to the comedy channel.

there is a 30 dollar rebate on the antenna's right now so the bottom line cost for the antenna is about 45 bucks. picked up my x-m at Circut City for $225 total ( receiver and antenna)

had it for two weeks so far and love it already. got really sick of hearing all the local morning radio personalties talk about nothing on the ride in before xm.. now all i hear is great tunes...

Cool, thanks for the opinions. I just picked up a Pioneer XM Tuner and Trek Antenna for $200. Now if I can only get my car to come so I can put everything in!

Yep, I think you're right. Problem is it's illegal. I heard (totally unsubstantiated rumour) that it will be available for sale here in November.
