Wiring Side markers with keyless entry
How you doin, i was woundering if this would be posible at all? being able to flash the side markers when the remote is pressed , (same way the parking lights do)
Idea taken from BMWs.. i belive they have the keyless light output conected to the hazards or turning signals we have them to the parking lights....

if you have an aftermarket keyless entry you can just take your parking light flash wire and splice another one into your sidemarker 12v and diode isolate it.
if you are using factory keyless, i dont know lol.

i would think the factory keyless entry would be the same way, no? I know where the parking light output wire on the factory moduel is, if i tap into it and diode isolate a wire to the 12v wire on the side marker, would that work? or would it blow up? lol
also what is the purpose of diode isolation here?

all the parking light output is going to do is give an output towards the sidemarker. it wont blow up. if you know where the wire is from the factory unit is then just splice into the sidemarkers. it will work.
i guess you wont have to diode isolate, but i usually do just to make sure there are no problems.

and what does diode isolate do?
Thanks again

Diode isolation kind of in a nutshell is like a blocking diode. It prevents energy from flowing backwards in your wire.
if you turn your parking lights on then only the parking lights will light up, because your parking lights do not run through your factory alarm module for a 12v source. wiring the parking light output to the sidemarkers will ONLY light them up when you unlock and lock the car. also the sidemarkers will still work when using turn signals

thanks
