Wiring question: four speakers and a sub with stock HU
My goal is to do this while spending a minimal amount of cash...
The stock HU has only four speaker outputs and I would like to also wire up a sub. What is the best way to do this? The amp for the sub has low impedance speaker-wire inputs, high impedance RCA inputs, built-in crossovers, and two-channel output. But it is small, so I would rather have it exclusively power the sub.
Also, if I have a line level converter, can I hook that up to the front speaker outputs on the HU and send that signal to the sub's amp? The amp manual has a big diagram saying not to do that, but I am unclear why (impedance issues maybe?).
Thanks in advance,
Howie

if you have speaker-wire inputs, most of the time you don't need line-level converter...just plug that shit
I have seen a lot of people in that scenario use line-level converter, get a 4 channel amp, and power one set of the speakers with two of the channels, and the sub on the other two...
