wiring advice

I guess you didn't get my PM...
4 gauge power wire fused within 12" from the battery
6 gauge ground wire, grounded within 24" of the amp
12 gauge remote turnon wire from HU to amp
and a good set of RCA's with twisted conductors
no need for a cap at all...
Hope that helps

A #8 gauge will be fine. In most cases its best to keep your ground within 1 size of the power for the best transmission of power. However your right about that, #6 is harder to come by...
Vampire: You should ground it within the 24" for a fast return for the power. You must ground the amp and the closer to the amp the better.
A bad ground can lead to a lot of problems...trust me on this one. ITs best to use a factory bolt, and if there's any paint under or around it don't forget to scrap it down to bare metal.

oh sorry... I was wondering why you asked that question You want to fuse the line from the battery to protect the amp for overload and/or a surge. And you need to ground the amp and the shorter the line the better. Its been proven that if you have a long ground wire the system can have noise in it. So to avoid this "noise" you want to have the ground as close as possible...(within reason)
Both my ground are less than 24"'s.
