Yikes!! Was it multiple reports of it frying? Hopefully just a one off case....

I agree I wish it had android auto or at least plug in. I'm assuming you can still connect that Bluetooth and stream your music like any other HU though right?

Ugh, really? I’ll keep you guys posted. So far it’s been a few days installed and working rock solid every time.

Even the built-in mic on the front of the unit works well for phone calls. Reverse camera screen is a bit small (square shaped instead of as wide as the screen) but it’s all been nice. Looks like it could have come factory this way, albeit the words being smaller than on most units)

That's awesome to hear. All good feedback that I'm sure if they release a v2 will have updates or maybe even over the air updates haha.... But even having all these things is a great start for our cars lol

What's your opinion on the sound quality? Also, is the reflections off of the shiny screen an issue?

no, the rearview camera was some thing that the installer had in stock, nothing fancy and not power acoustik brand.

The reflection of the screen is not an issue. Sound quality is great!

UPDATE: CarPlay has intermittently stopped working. Now, sometimes I need to power off the unit for CarPlay to start working again it has only happened about three times in the last couple days, but I’m not thrilled.

has it only been a carplay issue? Has this happened with regular Bluetooth too?

The bluetooth is stable. i also have a hardwire option if i want (comes off the back of the unit and a wire is coming from under the passenger airbag area). haven’t tried the hardwire option yet.

Even if Carplay fully dies, I’ll still enjoy the head unit for bluetooth but i’ll be pretty bummed.

it’s SO nice to not have my phone out or any wires showing when i’m navigating.
