where to put the fuses? set my car on fire?
I currently have two power lines running to my battery (which is in the rear of the car) with an inline fuse on each line. One is for my headunit the other for an amp. I would like to clean up the wiring and put in a fused distribution block. But i'm confused about where to put the fuses. I know i need fuses for the head and amp, but do i also need an inline fuse for the line that goes from the battery to the fused distribution block? it's about 10 inches, i assume I would need a fuse that equals the sum of all the fuses in the distribution block?
sorry if this seems like a dumb question, there are just too many disaster scenarios running through my head!

I wouldn't worry about a fuse between the battery and the dist. block if the run is that short. The whole reason for fuses is for shorts, be it internal to the item being fused, or external to the wire running power TO that item. Since the run is so short, the chances of a short on that cable are very slim. Just protect it well with a wire loom and call it a day.
