What speakers to buy
Hello all. I am looking to replace my stock speakers in my MY2006 ive checked crutchfield and they only gave me 3 speakers to choose from... i am looking to see who used what and how easy or straight forward the install was id like to keep my door panels looking stock on the outside and dont want to cut or bend any metal. any speaker install with part number and success rate would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance for any help in making my decision

Yea if you go by Crutchfield's list you have very limited options, I would recommend Hybrid Audio Technologies Imagine I61-2.
Refer here for install and reviews from a few different members:

There are very few if any speakers that are "drop in" to a late AP1 (with separate
tweeters) or an AP2. That said, most 6.5"/6.75" components will fit with relatively
minor work.
The issues are:
1) you'll generally need to substitute a spacer up to 3/4" deep for the stock plastic
speaker basket
2) you'll need to fit the tweeter where the existing one is, which may mean trimming
it, or removing a built-in grill.
3) you need to find a place to put the crossovers - many will fit behind the door panel,
but not massively oversized ones. If it's not in the door, you'll need to run at least
another set of speaker wires into the door.
Keep in mind that most aftermarket component sets will not be adequately powered without
a separate amp, so if your plan is just the headunit, get ones with a high sensitivity
(efficiency) rating, 92dB or greater.
The conventional wisdom is to replace the headunit before the speakers in an AP2, though
I can't personally speak about that - in an early AP1, you can probably improve the sound
by replacing the speakers with ones torn out of a clock radio...
