I'm not new to the audio scene and have built numerous systems but never in a car so small like the S2K!

What do you guys do for more sub-bass? I was thinking of building something in the passenger firewall area but don't want to lose too much legroom. The trunk is ridiculously small already and no real space behind the seats!

HELP

johnnydev: thanks so much for your insight

Actually I'm in a similiar position that I'm not going for earth shaking bass but a lot of music out there including drums/Jazz needs a bass system capable of having decent output. Add the convertible issue with the top down and I really want to put some low end in the car. Especially when I'm so used to that nice sound in my M3 already...haha

I'm going to take some more measurements tonight in my footwell section to see what can be done. I've seen similiar setups in NSX's so I know it's doable with fiberglass.

I did contact WLARENT and he showed me the pics on his website. The boxes do look well built but a bit pricey....almost the price of the JL Stealthbox for sure.

I wish someone had these that I can audition in their car...haha - any offers in the bay area?

What are some other things you guys have done in your car?

post ur pics here!

late,
rick

Bimmerboys love JL.....its almost as if JL tells bmw owners that their cars will blow up unless they have JL in the car.

Anyway, one good 10" is ALL the s2k needs to rumble. Oh, Rick, dont bother asking anything on e46fanatics. Those guys are pretty dumb when it comes to anything with cars. They def. are victims of more money than brains. According to them, they are all pushing about 6500wrms.

The 12" Eclipse Titanium wired in a 2 OHM configuration is capable of pushing a lot of solid bass even in a small enclosure. But the trunk will shake.

That's an old school Pioneer amp on the right. You can't get those things anymore, that was the last decent amp Pioneer ever made.
How do you like it?

flame suit, check
body armor, check
flame radar, engaged.
all systems go.
ready for NFR
