What to do about amps?
My current setup is
Pioneer DEH-P600UB
Diamond D3 400.4 amp
MB Quart QM 218.61 Q speakers
The tech sheet on this amp says I'm pushing 57W to the components which are rated at 90 - 170W so I'm underdriving them. Sounds great but I'm concerned about the safety of the speakers.
I'm adding a sub in a couple days. Just an old JL 12W4 single voice coil a friend of mine had laying around. So now I'm trying to decide if I should continue with the plan to bridge the 3&4 channels on the amp for the sub or if I should bridge 1&2 and 3&4 for just the components and add a cheap mono amp for the sub. 3rd option would be to get a new amp that's more appropriate for this application.
Am I correct in my understanding of the wattage, etc?
Links to all the tech sheets:
Diamond D3 400.4
QM 218.61 Q
JL 12W4
Thoughts / suggestions on what to do about an amp would be appreciated. Also, for the sub, what happens when you don't heed the mfgrs recommended enclosure size? The JL sheet says 1.25f^3 but the enclosure I'm getting is 1f^3.
Thanks,
UD.

The amp watts are light, and with the S2000 being a conv which is much more noisy and needs louder speakers, I'd be careful. I think it comes down to a simple question - If you're trying to play it so loud that you're going to rattle the windows or if you're just looking for an improved stereo for 'normal' volumes. If you're looking for the first, then you're going to push the amp way into the distortion range and blow the speakers. If you're looking for the second, then you should be OK, but be careful.
