Want to add an amp to OEM
I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but here goes. I want to add an amp and sub or subs to the oem head unit. Someone point me to a thread that covers this or advise me on the subject.
Thanks Manny

It is not a big deal to do what you want, however you will have to deal with some wiring headaches. Since you will not be replacing the stock wiring harness with an adapter, you will need to tap the stock wiring by cutting it at the plug that goes into the back of the radio. I would suggest getting lucid's rear speaker harness, since the wires will be easier to splice outside of the car, but the basic idea is the same. You will then splice in speaker wire and run it from the HU connector to the input of your amp (you will need an amp that has speaker-level inputs or an external speaker-level to RCA cable adapter). Many amps with speaker-level inputs have auto-sensing power-on, so you would not need to run a separate power-on lead. Then run new speaker wire from your amp to the speakers in the doors (and rear speakers if you have 'em). You would then just tape up the ends of the wires you cut and abandoned in the OEM bundle. I will try to get pictures and label the wires you want when I take my HU out this weekend to trace an alternator whine problem.
