I've read the many threads on hard-wiring V-1's & Passports...anyone done a Uniden (I have the LRD767)?

The wire that comes with the Uniden has a black wire with a red stripe & a solid black wire...I assume the black/red is the hot wire; anyone know for sure?

Not necessarily specific to Unidens:

Do I need a fuse in the line before I attach the wire to the fuse box? Wasn't sure if I can just go straight into the fuse box without a fuse (safely) or not.
Anyone know specifically which female connector fits the spare connector in the fuse box?

Thanks in advance!

OK...got the right connector for the fuse box, but still need to know if I need to have some kind of fuse inline between the detector & the fuse box....anyone???

Probably a good idea to have an inline fuse. The hard wire kit for my passport has one already in it.
