Ditto on the "crazy". The photo I remember showed where he cut out part of the frame in the rocker-panel area. I wouldn't mind cutting the floor sheet metal, but I stay away from anything structural.
10" sub with much metal hacking
The S2Ki member is ws2000. The site nicely documents his installation, but that kind of structural cutting is a little too much for me. Heck, any metal cutting and I think my S2K will feel pain...
(Sorry I got to this thread a little late, I just wanted to provide the link.)

so ur talking legroom in teh foot well, cause teh point of my post was under the seat subs, not in teh footwell subs.
Since you have a RHD car the internals might be a little different, but if everything is reversed you would put it under your drivers dash on the right.
In a LHD from the drivers seat, below steering level: The binding posts are accessible through the removable panel next to the radio:
From the Right higher up: It disappears at normal eye level.

nice, what sub u use, and how did u fabricate that box?

I basically made a dummy shape that would fit in that spot, then fabricated a chamber molded to that shape out of fiberglass. It was my first time ever working with fiberglass so it was kind of a learning experience.
I think my goals were like yours in that I wanted to add a sub without sacrificing space in the trunk or the footwell. So I've got the sub under the dash, one amp hidden above the fuel tank, and another amp sitting in the spare tire. And of course I have all storage space available in the car and I didn't have to give up the spare tire.
I really enjoy the sound.
If you decide to do it please read the safety disclaimer in the thread linked above.

I've decided not to use the bass shakers, since I can't afford to buy an amp right now due to my turbo going in. Maybe someone else will have a better use for them.
