Default tweeters/speakers play for a few mins then turn of

As title says, I have JL tweeters/speaker components and they've been working fine for weeks now. Yesterday my friend slammed my passenger door pretty hard and then now my speakers work for a few mins. then shut off, any ideas? Thanks

Check the wires in the door and make sure nothing got shaken lose. I had the same problem with my old car and one of the speaker wires was coming lose from the speaker.

I checked to see that they were all the way they've been, any thoughts on maybe the main input wires not good? Where is the ground for the main input wires like from the main harness side

When I first installed my new speakers, someone suggested that I check whether the wires or magnet is being grounded by my door. If they are, the speakers will not work, our headunits (stock or otherwise) has some sort of security feature that when this happens, the speakers shut off for safety reasons.

If you haven't already, maybe get some sort of spacers to seperate the speakers from the metal doors. Or maybe you could cover up any exposed metal near the speakers to prevent future grounds by slammed doors and such.

Check the connection on the speaker itself. Between the the connector on the speaker fram and the voice coil connection. That's where my problem want. I had to resolder it. But it was vibrating and cutting all the speakers out.

Yeah, its an annoying problem, once you cover up the metal near the speaker and it's connections or make some more room between them you shouldn't have any further problems. Mine is still fairly unsecure but will fix it once I get more materials to build a decent spacer. Glad to be of help!
