System components
Speakers: Focal Mistral 136NX
Sub: JL 10W6v2
Amp: Precision Power ax606.2
Deck: Stock with LOC for now, waiting on the deck I ordered a couple months ago to arrive (Clarion 9255 anniversary model)
I did the doors a while ago - Focal Mistral 136NX in stock locations - this is the predecessor to Utopia with a (imo) smoother top end. For now they're just getting 50w x 2 as the signal coming outta the LOC isn't that clean. Once the new head unit is in, I'll be sending 200w x 2 to them. The doors (and trunk) are deadened with Brown Bread from http://www.b-quiet.com/
I was willing to lose the spare, but I absolutely did not want to lose the ability to put two golf bags in the trunk and with the huge amp it wouldn't fit where the spare went, so there was only one option. Mount vertically.
I'm a big fan of solid - a few years ago when I still competed in IASCA, I'd probably have welded or atleast bolted this amp rack in, but these days I'll settle for a couple screws into the bar and a couple up top to hold it tight.
I did find a good use for the spare tire bolt - it's used to secure the crossovers. The wiring is a bit of a mess right now, but that'll be cleaned up before it's all finished off.
Amp mounted and a test enclosure in the "well". I hadn't heard a sub in the trunk of a S2K before and wanted to build a test box before committing to it. I'm quite happy with the output with the top up and down. Nice solid extension, no rattles and no boom either. It's getting 400w from the high current channels.
Now I just have to build the finishing panels for the amp rack and glass the well for the sub enclosure.
I'll add more pics as progress is made.
