Subs Installation Help!
#11
I ran mine through the grommet behind the battery and down the passenger side to the trunk. All my speaker/RCA wires are running up the center of the car. Engine Noise is non-existant.

zboy-I did mine the same way. I don't like the look of the power wire crossing the firewall in the engine bay. By running it down the passenger side, you can use less cable and you don't have to worry about dressing it to conceal it either.
Also, with the signal wires down the center tunnel, this allows for shorter cable runs and there are no power wires there.
Please disregard my "double crossing of the firewall". That was a goof.
I will post pics of my install when I'm done. I'm just waiting on some goodies sent to me by Pas2knut which will arrive later this week.

Tell us about your system and the setup you have zboy.
Lets see what do I have...
Pioneer Premier 860MP on Network Mode.. active crossover only
Elemental Designs eDi 6500 (minus crossover)
Elemental Designs eD12.22A
Hifonics Zeus 1000D (sub)
Hifonics Zeus 6400 (2 channels to tweets, 2 to mids)
Stinger 0 Guage power wire split to 4 gauge 3 feet from amps, 4 gauge ground
Stinger Hyper Series Interconnects/ 16 gauge Stinger speaker wire to components.
Thats it for now, I have a 1f Stinger cap, but so far I have not needed it, and wold rather leave it on the shelf if I can.
My glass box is about .7ft^3 and will be painted GPW.
I need to move the tweets from the stock (MY03) location... The staging is HORRIBLE, even for a convertible. And using the time/position aligntment fixes that but at the cost of some serious SQ.
I also need to deaden the doors, they vibrate pretty badly, but I didnt want to add the weight unless absolutley necessary.
However, even with the sub not yet installed, the overall SQ is great, and it gets crazy loud, more than just audible with the top down at 75MPH... even then it still sounds loud, and you can hear all the small details. Of course when you stop you realize its ridiculously loud and you get nasty looks. And then again when you put up the top its unbearably loud! But then the answer is just go top down right?
