sub question
Howdy all,
2 weeks ago i had some speakers an amp and a sub installed, keep the stock head unit by a friend of my sister (she opened a shop a couple of months ago).Anyways the speakers and the amp are fine but the sub was way too loud(too much base) for my taste,it's a 10 incher. So i took the sub out and i realized the diffrence with and without the sub(quit a diffrence).I don't know much about stereo equipment,my question is if i put a smaller sub in will it kill the base a little or does that have something to do with the amp?

Are the new speakers running off an amp? Or are they just running straight from the trash that we call the stock HU?
You really need an aftermarket HU before changing subs. Any good aftermarket HU will allow you to fine-tune the sub, midrange, and treble to your liking. Running a sub off any stock unit is always a crapshoot.

if you are running off the stock HU you can turn down the amp output on the amp and make it really weak.... this also makes it sound alot cleaner like a factory sub or something probably for your liking
