Sub Amp to Match
I recently upgraded my system to have an Alpine HU, Focal Speakers in sPods and an Orian 400 4 Channel amp. in the tool well of the trunk.
I'm happy with the system, but it clearly could use the kick of a sub. I like the looks and the reviews of the ED 11kv. sub, but I hope that someone could suggest what they think should power it since I'm starting from scratch.
Additional factors that are related to this are
1) I'm also in the process of laying dynamat / quietcote in the trunk and other areas to reduce road noise.
2) I'd like to sink the sub amp in the tool well, possible stacked over the Orian amp. I won't get rid of the spare tire for reasons detailed in other threads.
3) Music tastes are ecclectic so I'm looking for sharp bass that I can feel, but I'm not looking to share the boom with others on the road.
any thoughts?

I think you mean Ov.11? (not offering the Kv currently)
Get a JL 300/2 (about $325) or a JL 500/1 (about $450) and put it on the wall behind the passenger seat with the heat sink fins up. I have ran my 500/1 like that for 2+ years with no issues even here in the AZ heat.
Then go with a Ov.11 2 ohm DVC (@ 4 ohms)

Hmmm. Sounds like a good idea indeed. I don't let tall people ride with me anyway!
I'll be going to your site tomorrow to put the order in.
Thanks!

Yeeah - my 5-6 wife rides passenger most of the time, but even the occasional 6' cowanker does not complain either.
I am about 7-10 days out on enclosures right now - demand exceeded planning.
