stock head unit, will it work with sub & amp?
I really don't want to repalce the stock head unit... I just bought a sub and amp and am currently deciding on wires for the system.
Is it possible to keep the stock head unit or can i run the rca wire from the stock head unit to the amp?
If so, what type of rca wire do i use and where do i plug it in, is ther a palce or do i have to get a convertor or what?

Well as much as I know the stock unit does not have any sub outputs, so its kinda hard. I am sure there is some kind of wire which would allow you to send some signals to your amp and then block the high hertz ones with a crossover and make the sub work but I still belive the sound quality wouldent be good. What kind of sub and amp did you get?
If I were you I would just change the headunit its so much easier than trying make the stock one work with a sub.

yes you can.
the stock head unit has no RCA outputs. you will need to get a 'rear speaker' harness that will give you rear outputs, then add a line level converter that will step that signal down to RCA levels (some amps have this built in). you'll also need a crossover as well, to send bass signals only to your sub.

from the site:
you have a crossover built in, which will probably handle your needs..
it may have a line level converter built in... if it doesn't, a line level converter shouldn't cost you much more than $25.
and please don't really believe that it will give you 600 watts output. you can expect something closer to 75 Wrms x 2 @ 4 ohms, and 250 Wrms x 1 @ 4 ohms... (and i'm still being very kind with those numbers...)

eeeek sub & amp still not installed!
It was the night before the install scheduled date and it had been raining the last two days. Time to clean the trunk well and wrap my spare tire tool kit i na towel and put it with the spare tire. took the lid off the tool kit and pulled it out. **vooosh** with a hint of a splash, was close to the sound i heard. Apparently there is a leak. rain water seems to have found a hole and made its way to my trunk well and thank god i havent installed the amp there and my sub above it a few days before. Taking it to the dealership to get it fixed- under warantee- and hopefully it never happens after the install. new install date is next week. ill post pics after the isntall-
