Default Stereo side controller adapter

if im buying a new headunit, do i have to buy like an adapter that will allow me to use the side buttons or what? and if so where do i find this adapter?

In order for the side controls to work....yes.

I believe the unit is called Modifry DCI

Yes, you do have to get an adapter. If your new deck has remote capability, the controls can be mapped to behave like infrared remote controls. Not every button worked for me, but the important ones do (ie. volume). Good luck!
