Default Stereo shorting out/turning on/off

I was wondering if anyone had the similar problem as me and could provide me with the fix... I have an 05 with the stock headunit in and every so often the stereo turns off and comes back on a second or two later and will continue the cd from where it stopped. at first it only happend once in a blue moon, but it seems to be happening more and more, almost everytime i drive it. thanks for your input!

do you have an amp? Sounds like the amp might be going into protect mode. I had a similar issue and fixed it by modding a fan to cool the amp.

same thing happened to me...only it occurred when going over rough pavement. the source of the problem was a loose ground. the bolt holding the ground wire/ring terminal had come loose. mind you, this was for an aftermarket system, but i'm sure the stock system has a ground as well (i *think* it's near the HU...).

Take it to the dealer and have them fix it under warranty. Are you under 36K miles?

yea im under the mileage and the year limit, and it is stock keep in mind. i would much rather fix it myself if it is something as silly as a loose ground. i hate having other people work on my car.. im just that kind of person haha, but if i have to i will. anyone have any idea where the ground may be? and is this the common behavior of a loose ground?
