Default Stereo install and headrest speakers install in new black 04

My black 04 should arrive tomorrow.

It's going in to the stereo shop on Tuesday.

The headrest speakers will arrive after that, maybe by Thursday.

On Friday we're taking the car for an end of the season trip.

I would appreciate some advice so I can assist the install shop in doing the best job possible. I have never installed a stereo system.

1) where should I have them run the wires from the headunit to the amp?

2) can I power the headrest speakers off the head unit, while I'm running the components and a future sub off the 4 channel amp? It's a Clarion 835 headunit.

3) where should I have them run the wires from the amp to the components?

4) where shoudl I have them run the wires for the headrest speakers for easy install once they arrive? I don't even know what sort of wires (rca?) they accept or if there will be any problems connecting them to the aftermarket head unit.

5) I'm also having a sirius tunur and antenna installed. Where are some good locations to mount the tuner and place the antenna? I assume the antenna needs to be outside the car to receive the signal.

6) any advice on where to place the crossovers?

7) Is there anything else that I should let the install shop know about working with this car?

Thanks ahead of time for any advice that you can give me.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried using the search feature, but it doesn't seem to work.

I didn't realize all the speakers could be run off the 4 channel amp. Would that prevent me from controlling each of them, front, back, sub with the separate controllers on the headunit? I assume the headrest speakers don't use much power.

Does the power cable run through the center console also?

Is getting access to run the wires throught he center console self explanatory? Is there anything they'll need to do to get things apart.

Does the satelite antenna work even if it's underneath the secret compartment? I'm suprised the signal can get through that.

Thanks again.

The secret compartment is mostly plastic. I don't have one, but I have seen pix of one located there.

As stated, run the power down the passenger side under the sill.

The '04 center console is different than the '03 and down, so I am really not sure. Look at http://www.ricks2k.com for instructions on installed the leather console cover. This has some good pix of taking apart a center console enough to get wires through. There is a foam "doughnut" around the shifter. It is MUCH easier to remote this, run the wiring and replace it when done.

I have a 5 channel amp so I am not sure how to configure it to run all the speakers off the 4, but I am about 96% sure it can be done. You installer should know. This has zip to do with S2k's, it's a general car audio thing.
