Hey I work for a local dealer of JL audio and I am able to get the stealth box for under 200 and was wondering if the sound is that good. Can you guys tell me what you think bout this sub. I also was thinking bout running the jl e1400 d class amp for this sub. Its 240w at 4 omh and was wondering if this amp can handle this sub. Jl says the max for the sub is 250w and the best watts for its is 210w-230w what do you guys think

 

or is 250/1 or 500/1

 

I have a JL 500/1 with the stealthbox and I'm happy with this setup. It kicks very hard. Very clean, tight bass. More than enough.

By the way, for $200 you'd be hard pressed to put together any kind of quality sub+enclosure combo anyway so you'd be crazy not to go for it.

 

I think the amp is the 250/1 and the sub is a 10w3. I think that is the package.... If you can get it all for $200, I would say go for it. I got one similar to the JL box (I wanted flush mount instead of recessed) and I got if on eBay for $150 shipped. Looks and sounds good. If you really want to bump, 250WRMS is not going to be enough. I have a 283WRMS Infinity amp and it leaves me wanting more in the upper end (signal clips if too set too high).

If you are looking for shaking bass, I would go for the Rockford Fosgatte 4002 amp. I think its 400WRMS and I think it puts that out at 4-ohms. The JL sub I think maxes power rating at 250WRMS, but those numbers are usually low. I dont think it can handle 400, though.

If you have to buy the sub and the amp separate from the $200 box, you can do it for cheaper. If they are included, go for it. If you do not like it, you can sell them on here for more than $200!
