Yes the amp has a crossover, its a good amp, for what i have heard the JL e4300

my next step in my audio set up is going to be the sub, would a kicker solobaric say the 10 give me decent bass? and when i have the sub installed i will have the new shop check the wiring... guess what. the shop that installed my and used the factory wires because they didnt wanna go and send wires into the door.... slackers

I have a question or two for everyone as well.

If I am installing a set of Kenwood aftermarket 6 1/2 components do I need:

1) New speaker baffles (XTC)
2) Lucid adaptors for 6 1/2 speakers

Or can I use the stock baffles and just drop the speakers into the doors (or drill holes ).

You dont need anything. If you want to keep the stock mounting holes, use the stock honda ring (cut off the basket)

If you don't want the hassle of getting a box made, having to mount an amp and being "A bass head" then try the Basslink option by infinity. I have never heard it personally, but have read enough from some of the guys that have them that they will do fine if shaking fillings out is not what you are after. Especially for about 230$. You get a 10" Infinity sub a box and an amp mounted cleanly to the box. It looks alright is cheap and puts out 200watts RMS. Not bad for a ouple hundred $$$. If you need trunk space unplug the wires. (It should only take a couple minuts) and there you go space for a......gym bag!
Search basslink, a few of the members have pictures of the box in the car and feedback of it's performance. I was thinking of going that route but decided that I want to be a basshead and wanted a bigger system.

It the wiring is okay, this is the next thing I would check....actually probably the first.

Ya, im havin it checked out by a better shop that has never done me wrong, only reason i didnt take it to them in the first place is that they are so good infact seems the blingin ballers have more room to spend on lcd screens, screw bling bling, i say V-Tech!

oops forgot to say, they have been booked way far in advance and i also live about 3 hours away from em now.

So you say i should cut out some of the bottom of the baffles? I just took the door off and OMG F$^#'n circuit city totally butchered the job, sliced up the stock baskets (didnt use an adaptor kit) mounted the speakers in unevenly and nearly bent the frame of the speakers themselves.... they are gonna hear about this

If you want to use the XTC baffles to protect the speakers from water comming down from windows, then you need to cut the bottom 1/3 of the baffle.
I had my car installed at a local shop, I do not trust Circuit City at all, I also print out an installation instruction sheet with all informations I got from this site to give it to the installer.
