SONY CDX-M9905X CD MP3 Player OK to install in S?
I'm looking to set up a new system, but I need a little help. I was thinking of adding a 2 channel amp that I had from a previous system with some new MB Quart QSD 216 components for the doors. I have a stock system now in my '02 S2000.
My only problem is that I lost the radio card so if I disconnect the battery for the amp installation then I can't use the stock radio. That really doesn't bother me since I'd like to add a HU too. I was looking at the new Sony M9905X, but my only concern is that when you move the faceplate to add a cd, it seems to shift down a little. Based off of where the current stereo is, I don't know if the faceplate will have room to move down. Has anyone installed this before? If so, is there anything special I need to do to make sure the radio will open correctly? Also, do you know if there is a mod out there that will enable this CD player to work with the dash radio controls?
Finally, if I don't have the radio card, am I completely out of luck with getting the code?
Thanks for your help! It's much appreciated!
By the way, I've read where people add 2 speakers to the back (not S-pods) how do you do that? Thanks again!

if you pull out ur stock stereo, you can get the serial # on the radio and your local dealer can get the code for you.
There is a DCI you can buy from lucid or s2ki marketplace that allows you to retain the dash controls (adds functions tood!). Dunno about the sony HU though. GL!

Dear god, please don't disgrace your Qseries for such a turd radio like a Sony. Your sound is only good as it's weakest link, don't make it a Walmart link... PLEASE!

Although sony decks are ok....they arent QSD worthy. Then again, the s2000 isnt QSD worthy.
Go Alpine. :brokenrecordmode:
