So I installed my components.....
I ordered some CDT audio component speakers for the S. I had a RF 4 channel amp sitting around. Today I had the chance to install everything, and I must say its not what I was looking for. I wanted something cleaner sounding with a little more bass then my 2 ways gave out. The components go a lot louder but the bass isn't there. Think I might have to look into getting a small 10" woofer which I didn't really want to do. Anyone else disappointed with there components or very satisfied?

Many people feel much improved bass response from their components when they seal the door cavity to simulate a speaker box for the component.
EDIT: That being said, I have installed Boston Acoustic SL60 components with an Alpine amp... and when I turn off the sub, I still hear very healthy bass response from my components. My doors are not sealed. So it could just be the way your speakers perform, or perhaps your amp or head unit... all areas you should probably address.

which CDT components did you get? ive had the CDT HD62 with upstage tweeters giving them 75 watts (jl audio 300/4), barely turned the gain up, and used the x-overs at 70. its sounded really clear, but lacked the bass i was looking. when i set it to full range mode, there was plenty of midbass. now, i have the CDT ES-07.2 components and these thing sound amazing.

sound dampened doors, boston pro60, and a very strong amplifier... and im not completely happy with bass. thats really difficult to judge satisfaction, because people have different expectations. for the price i paid, im satisfied, but not fully happy. will require 10s soon

I thought my components running by themselves were definitely weak in the bass dept. by themselves...but absolutely came alive, once I added the sub and was able to high pass filter them. That allowed me to go much much louder without distortion. Running full range, I just couldn't get the volume I wanted without them bottoming out.
