Simple iPod Touch Integration
What is the latest guidance on connecting an iPod Touch to the factory deck?
My car is a MY00, factory head unit, no changer. I'd like to be able to control, the iPod Touch via the factory radio buttons on the dash. I'm not interested in swapping out the factory radio or anything like that.
I've seen discussion about the
P.I.E. (HON98/PC-POD2),
Neo Pro Link (PODHONR2V2) and
iPod2Car (PXHHD1)
but there seems to be some confusion about whether they support the Touch or not.
Any pointers much appreciated.
TIA

I have dension but you can't control the touch with it. ONly way to play music is to have it playing before connecting it.
Ipod adapters usually replicate the buttons on the ipod. On the touch there are no buttons so I think you will have a tough time finding what your looking for.

Really? I would have though plugging it into the deck would connect you to the software interface, not a hardware interface.
Anyone else know otherwise?

Neo seems to support touch
This is from the neo site http://www.neocaraudio.com/ S2000/MY00
Neo ProLink PODHONR2V2
~ Compatible with iPod

My older Dension iceLink (which is now marketed by DICE in revised form) works fine with my iPhone. I can control the iPhone from the radio. And it's true, these controllers tie into the software/firmware, not specific "buttons".
Check out the DICE unit at logjam electronics, I believe it specifically states it supports iPhone and Touch.

At the very top of the page - works with the iPhone EXCEPT the new 3G.
I guess it'll be a few months before we start to see interfaces that will talk to a 3G iPhone?

Maybe they haven't certified it for the 3G yet, or perhaps a firmware update is needed. Heck, the DICE webpage still thinks it doesn't work with the first generation iPhone
I am surprised the 3G doesn't work -- the dock connector has not changed as far as I know.

didnt want to make another thread for this question but its on topic
...I have an Ipod Touch and an Iphone 3g....I would like to use them both with my stock headunit but Using just the Ipod Touch is also fine if i have to. the NEO was mentioned to work on the Touch but what about my 3g? Also is there any modification I would have to do in order to use it or is it just a plug in?
