Shaved Antenna... Key fob wont work

As far as I know, the antenna for the radio is independent of the keyless entry system. Also, the thing PokS2k mentioned works to a noticeable extent. It's that your skull acts as a parabolic reflector for the RF signal coming out of the remote, so rather than emanating from the remote in a 360 degree pulse, the waves hitting your noggin partially reflect back.

Thats all fine and dandy, but i'd really like to increase the range of my fob lol... Maybe I'll just buy a viper.

look under the drivers seat. You may see your OEM alarm box or keyless unit. coming from that will be a small wire which seems to go nowhere. That wire is your keyless antenna.

Cut the end off and splice in another 2 foot of wire and VERY loosly coil it under the seat tied. up. Your coil should be about 4" in diameter.

This will effectively triple your keyless range
