Default Seeking help with replacing the left hand audio controls

Before I destroy my dash, can anyone tell me the proper method for removing the left hand audio control console? My mute is not working (power light goes on, though) and I want to pull it to see if it needs replacing or just has a loose connection. Thanks.

That covers it.

you take out the 2 plastic covers ontop of the over heard display, then take out the 2 screws, and then gently pry the whole dash cluster/stereo controls/a/c vents out as one unit. then behind the audio control is a few screws holding it in. take those out and then it slides out forwards. be warned, its a pain in the ass to get the whole thing back in. there is a little metal bar the bottom of the trip on top of the steering wheel has to go into. its easier to pop off the plastic piece on the top of the steering column (just pops right off) to see the metal bar i'm talking about

Search for DJQube

Look in his sig regarding custom left side dash controls. He has a link to his website where he has detailed instructions (including pictures) on how to remove the dash controls.

Thanks for the help.
I now have DJ Qubes instructions (well done) but have not tried to remove it yet.

Pushing the mute button turns the light on and off but does not mute the sound. I've had the car about a month and everything is stock. The button just stopped working one day.

i think that you should remove the 'steering wheel controls' and install a retractable cup holder ..considering the OEM spot is so incredibly impracticle

just something i was thinking about today
