They mounted my on the front windshield. Works fine and you can't really notice it's there. I did not want to mount it outside the car. I think it looks tacky and would not be happy with scratches.

Matt, how is the reception there with Sirius. When I spoke to an installer a couple months ago he said that the Sirius antennas are one generation back and need still need direct metal contact on the bottom side for full reception but that the new XM micro antennas do not. Do you ever lose signal in that spot? That's where I installed two XM antennas and they seem to work well.
