Sad: Kenwood iPod Cable Not Working w/ iPhone
So I'd been eyeballing a Kenwood unit for $50 to attach my 1G iPhone to my Kenwood head unit so I could stream Pandora, etc. I found that you can buy a more simple cable, but it would not support control from the head unit.
I thought - perfect! I don't want that anyway. I was worried that it would only allow me to play stuff from the iPod library.
Anyway, I got and installed the cable today. It turns out that it will play music from a regular iPod, but it only charges the iPhone .
Bummer. Anyone got any other ideas? FM modulater = bleh btw. Wish I knew of someone who had used the $50 OEM unit that could tell me how it works with the iPhone (both the current one and the new 3GS, as I'm thinking of picking one up).

What model Kenwood is it? Can't you just get a normal Auxillary wire to plug and listen? My friend has the 3GS and uses an Aux cable to plug into the headphone slot and listen to Pandora just like you. It doesn't charge, but he uses a car charger for that.
