S2k Speakers
I have a pair of 6.5'' kicker speakers with an amp in my jeep hooked up. I would like to trade speakers from Jeep to s2k. The question is do i need my amp in order to improve sound quality over stock. Just for the record I am keeping stock head unit.

You can certainly keep the stock HU and use new speakers, but the improvement would be limited since the stock HU is, well, a POS.
I would recommend spending even a couple hundred bucks or so on a cheap after market unit to get some decent tunes going. You will be glad you did from both a sound and feature standpoint since the OEM unit really doesn't do anything well IMO.

Is there a certain reason you are attached to the OEM head unit? A decent aftermarket HU should be able to push the speakers with no amp and sound good enough for what you want to do.
