Claus, I highly recommend Sundown amps. Pick up a 50x4 (probably closer to a 60x4) for $350 or so. Excellent SQ (the guy who designed them is an SQ fanatic) and you can't beat the price. I'm actually using 2 of them in my truck (one for each door). Besides running a second set of speaker wire to each door, should be pretty easy to swap it in (and it can run active on it's own)

I chose the Revs b/c I couldn't find anything as high in SQ (without spending MUCH much more on car audio specific speakers from an authorized dealer - I don't buy gray market anymore, just not worth it) that would fit in the doors with a 4ohm impedance. Unfortunately, short of upgrading my amp, this was pretty much a required impedance level. I'm certain it will be worth the effort when it's all done

^already have two sets of wires running into the doors, copper for mid bass and silver for tweets and.... I know I'll end up buying another pair of $200 RCA's if I go active...

stop making me pull out my sexy RS6 xovers and VRx out of my trunk

Yo...let me know when you're ready to switch to active. I'll build you custom RCAs (like I did for my truck), cut to whatever length you specify with soldered plugs (and you can give me the $200)

I think I spent maybe a total of $150 on 3 sets of custom length RCAs (Belden coax, solder plugs - 15', 17', 21')

WBT plugs start at $50ea...

I use the Dayton gold plugs, $5-7ea and, lets face it...it's not like there's really that much difference between WBT and Dayton plugs...they're gold, they're solder, they're RCA plugs...

the problem with me is that.... I treat cables like jewelries for my sound systems And Germans are too good at machining, hehe~ j/k

And you've done it... I'm not gonna go active as yet but might start a RCA shopping spree soon, in hope to find something as detailed and as fast as blue heaven while being warmer and having a wider soundstage....

the RS6 and blue heaven combo sounds good, but is too agressive for some recording atm... However, the bh would be perfect with Seas though, ahaha

you might get a pm within a week or two RCA review inc?

update: fixed overly agressive staging by deadening the platic door panels more(only had closed cell foam before, now has mat and foam), which reduces rattles and harmonics

driver side sound stage now extends up to two feet beyond the door

Imprint is in use and makes a very positive difference, although it's negated by having both roof and windows down. The windows make more difference to sound quality than the roof position though (unsurprisingly).
Can the Imprint remember different settings? I'm looking forward to installing an equalizer. I'm hoping to be able to call up a different profile depending on acoustic environment (soft top up, soft top down, hard top on, windows open, windows closed, etc...)
