hey,

got a new alpine head unit and want to install it myself, only thing is how do i take the flap off and surround?

I also have a new S2000 silver flap to fit.

Dont want to damage or scratch the surround for obvious reasons.

I took the little side pannel off to see if i could see what the score was, is it bolted in?

once i have the cover off without damaging anything ill be fine.

Any help will be much appreciated!

Maybe i should ask a chav!!!!

If you take the shift knob off, be careful to cover the threads. Pulling off the door can result in the door scraping the shifter. This leads to door scratches.

Be careful, and this can be easily avoided.

You may want to consider a modifry dci to retain dash controls on your new deck. www.modifry.com.

PS: I'm not a chav, but I do listen to The Streets. I prefer the s2000 tan to a spray one.

cheers guys i will give it a try, is the gear knob easy enough to remove?

does te casing just clip out then?

S2000 tan sounds better than the spray tan,

If your careful then you wont hit it but if you wanna take it off just in case then, all you need is an adjustable wrench theres a nut under the knob losen that and unsrew the knob outta place, remember lefty loosy
right tighty lol. And yes i believe the casing clips right off.

There should be no need to remove the shift knob. Just put it in reverse. That'll give you plenty of working space.

Yeah, I don't know why you would need to remove the shift knob. I've pulled my deck out a few times and never had any trouble. I think I put mine in fourth gear to give me some more room to work.

Hey, no need to worry now, thanks to all your helpfull advise, I now have the alpine running.

It was quite simple, it looks real tidy.

I also managed to fit the 04 flap at the same time it looks real sweet!!
