Default Relocating Amp somewhere else..

Ok guys, I'm sure this topic has been covered before, but I can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for.
So here's another thread asking for help. I appreciate everyone's input in advance.

So when I bought my S last year, it came with aftermarket stereo setup installed by previous owner.

Current setup is as follows:

-Clarion CZ300 HU
-Clarion XC1410 4ch. amplifier (which I swapped out with older no-name amp that was on the car) - mounted on the toolkit section on that foam piece
-Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS Component speakers with crossovers
-Dash Control kit (I'm not sure whether this is Modifry one or something else, haven't checked yet)

Some basic stuff i think.

Now the problem I have with the current system is that my sound dies (means it just doesn't produce anything from speaker) after certain amount of driving time,
and I see HU is working fine just no sound.

I think it is caused by my amp overheating and turning itself off, since it does this kind of thing when the weather is hotter (turns off earlier)

So I'm trying to relocate the amp to somewhere it's less likely to overheating the amp, (I think the foam piece where spare wheel tools are mounted insulates the heat)
where would be a great place to put it? Since the amp that I'm running right now is very small, I'm sure I have more options to put it.

I was thinking behind the plastic piece behind the seat (see picture below)

or under dash (my friend actually runs same amp inside here)

Do you guys think either would be okay to place my amp?

Also, can I just re-use the wires that are on the car? (i.e. cut them off to make em shorter so I don't have extra wire hanging somewhere)

Like I stated earlier, I highly appreciate all the help you guys can give me.

Please help. I'm getting tired of not having any music on my way to the track because of amp turning off about halfway to the track.

Have a look for the Alpine KTP-445 installs, that's a similar sized amp.

A good sneaky place to put it would be in the gap behind the fuel tank and the driver's seat, or inside the spare wheel.

Thank you!
Would that be somewhere like picture #1 that I posted above on the OP?

Thanks for the tip!

so I believe near gas tank area would be where the metal part of the car is, right?
Would I need to put something in between the car and the amp itself? I heard somewhere it's not good to put the amp itself on the metal section...

I mean above the fuel tank as well - see my signature for the bigger amplifiers I've installed there. However, if you reach behind the fuel filler pipe, you will find a great place to put your amp.

I put my amp behind my passenger seat, no problem after an 18 hour drive.

Thanks all for the input!

I relocated the amp to the carpet area behind the driver's seat, and went for a quick drive to test if it would still turn off after a while.

Now I can go for a long drive without having to worry about stereo turning off!

I'm going to re-do the wiring and finalize the setup to the new location.

Again I appreciate all the help guys.
