recommandation needed on ~$1K ICE system
It seems more research I do, more confused I get. Please help!
I am looking for a decent sounding system that will cost around $1000. I have spent many days looking at threads and specs, now my head is spinning.
3 things I am looking to upgrade are HU, Components, and AMP. All I am looking for at this time is to have bit more sound and clarity than stocks.
I would like to go with JVC KD-NX5000 as my head unit. (~$700)
I came down to few component speakers:
1. Alpine SPR-17S (~$160)
2. JL Audio VR6500-CSi (~$200)
3. Infinity Kappa 60.7cs (~$185)
Amps:
1. Clarion APX4240 (~$130)
2. Alpine MRP-F250 (~$140)
Plus cost of amp kit and speaker wires.
Now the questions:
Which of the speaker/amp combo will give me most clarity?
Do I even need an AMP at this stage?
If I go with an AMP, do I need new speaker wires?
Is there a better set/combo that will not cost whole lot more than above?
Any help or comments will be appreciated!

If you run an Amp you will need: new speaker wiring (length depends on amp mount location, crossover mounting locations and 2 or 4 conductor wire.. double length from the crossovers to speakers if using 2 conductor), amp power kit to run a ground for the amp and + cable for the amp to the battery (ground to shortest good grounding spot from the amp mounting location) and a set of RCA cables to carry the audio signal from the HU to the amp.

I can pretty much answer for John (Darkknight).....
1)Headunit of your choice (although out of 1K, 700 is a bit much for a system you want)....
2)Alphasonik 125 x 4 @4ohms amp.
3)Components of your choice, we have had great success with the Alphasonik 6.5" Kevlar Components
4)Kinetic Box with an Alpha 800 series
5)Wiring ($150 bucks or so)
6)Amp rack
7)Turn the volume to 11.

Dave, you have just described my entire set up almost to a T. I can tell you I am very happy with it. LOUD AS ALL HELL too
My system uses a 0-100% volume setting and 20% is plenty loud even with my gains at only about 50-60%. I can totaly drown out the Invidia and wind noise of 80MPH at 70%
I will hold a demonstration outside of the lodge next Friday night around 4AM.

The only we'll change is the sub to a 600 series. But other than that its about right. I'll get you pricing on the gear and we'll go from there.
Thanks Dave!
