Default Radio Question

Aftermarket radio for me and noticed that they connected the radio to run with the 12v socket. My socket shorted a couple of days ago and the radio stopped working. When I replaced the fuse, it started both started working again. My question is since I use the 12v socket for many things, would this now have a greater chance of shorting again. Would it best to connect the aftermarket radio to the radio fuse. Is that difficult. Thanks..

Why would they not use the radio fuse in the first place? Sounds like a bad install, and I'd have them redo it correctly.

That was I was thinking.. Ill call them today to find out why they did it that way.. Is that a simple job. It took them last time 1hr.30min to do the radio.

well, when you remove the radio the stock power wire is right there... I have no idea why they didn't use that in the first place. It shouldn't take them long at all

I would have them remove it and bring it somewhere else to be properly wired. You could have a potential fire hazard on your hands if it keeps popping the fuses like that.
